At Atelier M.H a series of full height pivot doors and panels create the illusion of a disappearing room within a room. Lukas Imhof Architektur designed this adaptable workspace within an open plan apartment using mirror clad pivot door leaves combined with the FritsJurgens System M+ pivot system.
The loft-style apartment features a total of 10 pivot doors and 12 panels. These moveable, full height room dividers allow the flexibility required. When closed the pivoting doors and walls create a warm and luxurious space with rich walnut veneer and minimal recessed handles.
Outside of the studio the mirror cladding to the doors amplifies natural light and creates the illusion of extended space.
The fluid motion of the System M+ invites interaction and ensures full spatial adaptability is achieved with ease. Each panel or door can be moved individually in both directions and held at 0°, 90°, and 180°, allowing for partial opening of the space and creating visual interest at every angle.
The top pivot sits at just 70 mm from the edge of each door leaf and is combined with the extremely minimal floor and ceiling plates to create the perfect invisible door.
